Propagation & Germination Instructions: To achieve the best results, it’s recommended to remove the hard outer casing of the Elaeocarpus eumundii seeds before sowing. A long germination period requires patience, but the results are worth the wait. Germination may take some time, so patience is key.
- Preparation: You can put the seeds in a nut-cracker, or slightly hit them with a hammer to crack the outer casing, and then access the smaller seeds inside.
- Sowing: Plant the seeds just below the surface of a pot or seed tray filled with a well-draining, high-quality potting mix. Ensure the seeds are covered lightly with soil.
- Environment: Maintain a warm, humid environment and protect from direct, harsh sunlight.
- Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.
- Germination Time: Germination is notoriously slow and can take several months or even up to 12 months.
