Description
Phoenix sylvestris – Silver Date Palm
Family: Arecaceae
Packet Size: 6 Seeds
Description
Silver Date Palm, Phoenix sylvestris, is native to the Indian subcontinent. It produces a tall, single trunk topped with long arching feather fronds that can have a bluish or silvery-green cast.
A striking specimen for large, sunny gardens, it needs ample room at maturity. Its leaves, like those of other Phoenix palms, carry stiff, sharp spines near the base; avoid planting close to walkways.
