Germination Method Recommendation
Thank you for purchasing. The following is the germination method that we recommend:
- Prepare your mix: Use a good quality seed-raising mix (available at garden centres) or a well-drained, organic-rich potting mix.
- Fill the pot: Place your chosen soil mix into a pot or seed tray.
- Sow the seeds: Sow the small black seeds just below the surface of the soil, covering them lightly with a thin layer of mix.
- Moisture: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.
- Warmth & Light: Place the pot in a warm location with indirect light. Germination can vary but typically occurs within a month in warm conditions.
- Transplanting: Once seedlings have developed a few sets of true leaves and are large enough to handle, carefully transplant them into individual small pots.
- Ongoing Care: Continue to provide partial shade and moderate watering. Begin fertilising lightly once the plants are established and actively growing.
- Enjoy your beautiful Cordyline!
* Another method: You could also try placing the seeds on a damp paper towel, folding it over, and placing it inside a sealed plastic bag. Keep the bag in a warm spot until you see roots and shoots emerge, then carefully transfer the sprouted seeds to a seed-raising mix. (You could try both methods to see which one you prefer.)
