Description
Pandorea jasminoides – Pale Pink Bower of Beauty
Family: Bignoniaceae
Packet: 15 seeds
Description
This pale pink selection of Pandorea jasminoides, commonly called Bower of Beauty, comes from plants with light pink, trumpet-shaped flowers. The Australian native evergreen vine bears glossy compound leaves and flowers over a long warm-season period. It is well suited to trellises, fences and arbours. Seedlings from a named or selected flower-colour form can vary, so an identical pale pink shade is not guaranteed.
Key Features
- Flowers: Light pink trumpet-shaped flowers on the parent selection; seedlings may vary.
- Foliage: Glossy green compound leaves.
- Habit: Vigorous twining evergreen climber.
Growing Conditions
- Position: Full sun to part shade; provide a strong trellis, fence or arbour for climbing.
- Soil: Fertile or moderately rich soil with good drainage.
- Water: Water regularly while establishing; established vines have some drought tolerance.

Seed Propagation
- Prepare: Use sound, preferably fresh winged seeds; no harsh nicking or scratching the seed coat is needed.
- Sow: Place seeds on a moist, fine seed-raising mix and cover only lightly.
- Conditions: Keep warm in bright, indirect light with the mix evenly moist, not waterlogged.
- After germination: Pot up carefully once seedlings are large enough to handle and provide support as they grow.
Germination timing varies with seed freshness, temperature and growing conditions.
Germination advice: These instructions are a recommended guide. Germination results and timing may vary depending on seed freshness, storage, temperature and growing conditions. Alternative propagation methods may also be successful.
