Description
Linospadix monostachyos – Walking Stick Palm
Family: Arecaceae
Packet Size: 8 Seeds
Description
Walking Stick Palm is an Australian native of humid rainforest in coastal Queensland and New South Wales. It grows a slender ringed stem and glossy, dark-green arching fronds, with long, hanging spikes of flowers and red berries.
This compact, slow-growing understorey palm suits shaded courtyards, fern gardens and containers. It thrives in the protected, moist and well-drained conditions found beneath a rainforest canopy, rather than exposed hot positions.

Growing Note
Unlike sun-loving ornamental palms, Walking Stick Palm is naturally an understorey species and is best kept sheltered. Linospadix monostachya is an older alternate spelling.
Germination advice: These instructions are a recommended guide. Germination results and timing may vary depending on seed freshness, storage, temperature and growing conditions. Alternative propagation methods may also be successful.
