Description

Pygmy Date Palm, Phoenix roebelenii, is a relatively small date palm native to parts of Southeast Asia. It is known for its elegant, finely divided, arching green fronds and slender trunk, bringing a soft tropical effect to patios and courtyards.

Plants may be presented in multi-stemmed arrangements, but the palm naturally produces a slender main trunk. As with other Phoenix palms, the lower leaf bases can have sharp spines, so choose planting positions with care.
