Acacia disparrima, commonly known as Southern Salwood or Hickory Wattle, is a native coastal shrub or small tree. It is a fast-growing, low-maintenance plant native to coastal areas of northern NSW and Queensland, Australia. Its pale yellow, sweet-scented flowers and curved, sickle-shaped leaves make it a beautiful addition to any garden. This hardy species thrives in full sun, attracts birds, bees, and butterflies, and is ideal for planting in sandy, well-drained soil. An excellent choice for gardeners looking for a resilient, drought-resistant shrub or small tree that will flourish in Australian conditions.

🌱Propagation Instructions

  1. Place seeds in a heatproof container.
  2. Pour boiling water over the seeds to cover them fully.
  3. Soak overnight.
  4. Fill a container with seed-raising mix.
  5. Place seeds on the soil surface, then lightly cover.
  6. Keep in a warm, sunny spot.
  7. Water well and keep the soil moist.
  8. Germination occurs within 10–21 days.
