Acacia implexa, commonly known as the Hickory Wattle or Lightwood, is a hardy Australian native prized for its versatility and drought tolerance. This tall, free-flowering shrub or small tree thrives in diverse environments, from coastal regions to dry inland areas. 🌱 Propagation Instructions:
Acacia seeds have a hard coat and require pre-treatment for successful germination. Follow these steps:
- Pre-treatment: Place seeds in a heatproof container (e.g., a glass bowl) and pour boiling water over them until fully covered. Allow to soak overnight.
- Prepare the soil: Fill a pot or seedling tray with quality seed-raising mix.
- Sow seeds: Place pre-treated seeds on top of the soil and gently press them down, covering lightly with a thin layer of soil.
- Position: Place the pot in a warm, sunny spot.
- Watering: Water thoroughly and maintain consistent moisture (avoid waterlogging).
- Germination: Seeds typically germinate within 10–21 days under ideal conditions.
