Kentia Palm seeds require patience due to their naturally slow germination. For optimal results, ensure a warm, humid environment.

1. Preparation: Soak the Kentia Palm seeds in warm water for 24-48 hours. You may consider trying to carefully remove some of the hard outer seed coat to potentially speed up germination, or apply a very diluted bleach solution (e.g., 1 part bleach to 9 parts water for 15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly) to the seeds to help deter mould and soften the coat.
2. Sowing Mix: Use a well-draining seed-raising mix, such as a blend of 2/3 peat moss and 1/3 perlite. Dampen the mix with a spray mist of water until it is damp but not waterlogged.
3. Sowing: Plant Kentia Palm seeds just below the surface of the soil, lightly covered with approximately 2.5-5 cm (1-2 inches) of the peat/perlite mix.
4. Container: A clear plastic container with a lid or a seed tray covered with plastic wrap will create a mini-greenhouse effect. For larger batches, a styrofoam box (like a broccoli box) can work well.
